Let Your Heart Be Light

Can ya believe it. December is here.

I woke up early and decided to decorated my petite tree (with some help from Ollie, of course).

Oh the loveliness that is early morning on the weekend. The coffee pot was brewing and my Christmas tunes playing (a playlist I've been refining for a long time).

It was actually this time last year I first heard Andrew Belle's rendition of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" via a Relevant Magazine podcast. I was 'multitasking' on the computer and had it playing in the background. But at second 16 it had my full attention. While Frank and Judy's versions are classic and beautiful in their own ways, Andrew's lovely rendition took this song to the top for me. (Like, I've listened to it in July and have had it on repeat for the past half hour. #nbd)

And that last stanza... Dang.

Hope you enjoy it, too.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.
Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.
Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Lord allows.
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.
Blessings and love this holiday season,

  1. I've never heard this version before, but I LOVE it. Thanks for sharing!!!
