An Ode to Warmth

::sigh:: I think our Golden Days are coming to a close. How sweet was our Indian Summer? With the reports on Hurricane Sandy and the "early winter" forecasts (hyperbolic in nature, but yikes...), I've been taking in the last touches of warmth while I can. Grateful for those sun spots...

So last evening I took a lovely windy walk through Lakeview East and collected some leaves. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them. But instead of watching the Netflix film that's been sitting on my counter for two weeks, I ironed some leaves, y'all. And then I sorted them on my floor. Ollie helped, kinda.

"... And we stood
steady as the stars
in the woods
so happy-hearted
and the warmth
rang true inside these bones
As the old pine fell we sang
Just to bless the morning.

We grow, grow, steady as the morning
We grow, grow, older still
We grow, grow, happy as a new dawn
We grow, grow, older still ..."

Ben Howard's been on repeat for me all season. What are you guys listenin' to?

Happy Friday, friends.
